We are delighted that so many of you have decided to join us this year.  We provide lots of options for living and all our halls of residence give you the opportunity to live in an environment that promotes diversity, embraces excellence and works to develop a strong sense of community. 

Paying your room deposit

It’s time to pay the deposit to reserve your room and get one step closer to moving on to your new home in Plymouth. We are doing this hall by hall so that we don’t overload the system, as follows:

  • Friday 22 August: Radnor, Pilgrim, Robbins
  • Tuesday 26 August: Francis Drake, Mary Newman, Gilwell
  • Wednesday 27 August: Frobisher House, Alexandra Works, St Thomas and St Teresa
  • Thursday 28 August: Astor House
  • Friday 29 August: Discovery Heights, Central Point, Central Park Towers

You will receive an email from us and you'll have approximately seven days (details will be in your email) to pay your deposit from the dates shown here. Alternatively, log into the portal from here. Please contact us if this causes you any problems at or call the Residence Life team on +44 1752 588644.

Still on the waiting list for a room for September 2014?

Existing bookings are being released daily as students defer or change their study options. We are also seeking new accommodation. Students on the priority list will be contacted personally to be offered these rooms as they become available.

Please be patient and don’t worry, we will find accommodation for you.

How can I check my deposit has been paid? Log into the accommodation portal to check the status of your accommodation and room deposit.

I need the address of my hall for setting up a bank account? See the address of your halls in the FAQs page

I want a specific arrival day / time? We are working with the police to ensure a seamless and smooth arrivals weekend for all 3000+ students and their families. Therefore we are allocating arrival slots in halls by block, floor, and on a flat by flat basis to ensure that all flat mates arrive in the same hour and that access to your flat is easier. Full details will be sent this week or early next week once the plan has been signed off. Changes to these times will only be considered in the case of critical issues. 

I am still waiting for a room in university managed accommodation / I am on a waiting list for university managed accommodation from September? All our halls are currently full and we are taking waiting lists for accommodation, and also trying to find alternative halls to offer first year students as it is our aim for all students to live in university managed accommodation. If you have called or emailed, you will be on our waiting list and we will call you when rooms become available. We will also keep everyone updated via email as to their progress on the waiting list as more rooms are released daily. Please watch the website for updates. 

I still want to pay my deposit? The accommodation portal is now open for deposits. Log into the accommodation portal.

I want to move in before 19 August? Please email and mark this as early arrival so we can pick it out. You will need to let us know:

  • Your room reservation
  • Your arrival date
  • Your course title
  • Your student ID number

When are my payments for accommodation due? Payments will be taken approximately one week after the loans come out in September, January and April.
